Connect Four Flip!

This game is inspired by the experience of playing Connect Four with a younger family member or sibling.  When playing with them, the game usually ends with an upturned board and the pieces strewn about it. In this version, when the board flips, the pieces just shift in the new downwards direction, allowing the game to continue.

You play Connect 4 vs an AI opponent, which I made based on my experiences coding chess bots. After each move, the dial in the top right ticks upward, eventually catching on fire. A few moves after that, the AI opponent gets fed up and slams their fist on the table, causing the board to flip 90 degrees. The pieces will shift downwards and play resumes in the new direction. The AI will play perfectly up to 4 moves ahead, so strategize with a more long term plan or use the flip to your advantage!

This game was made in the Godot game engine. All art, music and code was created exclusively by Simon Ames.
